Welcome to Angry Hybrids!

Here I make my own hybrids of Angry Birds, with all my designs revolving around the basic red bird in the game. There will be plenty of updates and new hybrids coming along.

Mario Bird

High score! The Mario Bird jumps into the game as my latest hybrid! The Mario Bird is a really cool bird I made, and a really easy one! The bird has the signature Mario hat, with his mustache and blue vest. The mustache is above the bird's beak, and the eyes are Angry Bird-style. The background for it is a silver Nintendo Wii to emphasize the "Mario" part of it. I might make a Luigi, Yoshi, and Donkey Kong bird. I'll also consider more Nintendo characters like Pokemon, Kirby, Zelda, and Sonic.

Coming soon are the Wizard Bird, Flame Bird, Sonic Bird, and Techno Cyborg Destroyer Bird. Stay tuned for updates and, coming soon, cinematics!

Robot Bird

Programming...Deploying...Exterminating...It's the Robot Bird! This was a really fun and awesome bird to work on. I apologize for the flash in the photo. This bird is blasting through a computer trying to destroy the negative red error with the overdrive circuits. I found this one fun to work with because of the bird's circuitry. Up in person, it looks really cool, but the stupid camera ruined it. The bird is full of blue circuits with gold plasma tubes on it's head. The eyes have cameras with data computers and circuitry inside. There are also signals, data screens, wires, and meters all equipped with this guy. There is also a "pig proof" sensor on it's forehead. The background, I thought, looked kind of pathetic, since scarlet and cerulean never looked goo together. But I couldn't think of any other background. I might change it after covering it with paint or something. Anyways, the background is blue because of the computer, and red because of the error that the robot is trying to fix.

I'll update this page with a better picture. Then you'll probably like it more. Coming soon are the Mario Bird, Merlin Wizard Bird, and a Flame Bird.

Gladiator Bird

Marching down the battlefield with his armor and weapons...The Gladiator Bird! This bird is the first hybrid I made showing the red bird's color, confirming that it is the red bird. This one was also fun to make because of the details. I traced the basic outline, and then gave him a gold helmet with a red gem on it. I also gave him a crack on his helmet and a scar near his eye as "battle honors". He also has gold breastplates and a golden belt with a dagger in the left pouch. For the background, I felt that a high place with mountains, hills, and a fiery golden sky fit best.

Ninja Bird

He's got the weapons, he's got the stealth... The Ninja Bird! I present to you my fourth hybrid. The ninja bird's design is similar to the mummy bird, considering the fact that his mouth is covered up. I did the same for this guy, tracing the outline of the eyes and eyebrows. I made his outfit black, because usually, ninjas wear black outfits to conceal themselves. The fun part about this one was the weapons. He has nunchucks on one side, and a sword on the other. He wears a brown sash with a little pouch holding two shurikens.

For the background, I made a mountainous scene, because the perfect backdrop for a ninja is mountains in Japan. I made the sky a scarlet-crimson color, because I feel that red sky goes in perfect contrast with mountains and a ninja.

I'm currently working on the next upcoming hybrid: the Gladiator Bird. Also, I'll be making a robotic bird and a mutant bird. By fan request at school, I'll be also uploading a Yoda Bird. Tell me what bird you want, and I'll upload it on here.

Mummy Bird

This bird has risen from it's crypt in Ancient Egypt... Behold, the Mummy Bird! This was my third hybrid, and honestly, it was pretty fun to make. The bird design wasn't too hard at all. A mummy of an Angry Bird is merely the bird wrapped in bandages. I drew the basic outline of the bird, and then traced the shape of the eyes and eyebrows, as though the beak wasn't there. I then just drew faint lines for the bandages, which would later be outlined in black crayon and shaded before having the Sienna-Gold crayon color layered on top. The fun part was the backdrop: a classic Ancient Egyptian-style tomb. I drew a blazing torch placed on the wall, kind of Indiana Jones-style. I also drew a golden King Tut head, which my mom was pretty impressed with. The best part was making the hieroglyphics. What do you notice about them?

If you look closely, there are drawings of birds, pigs, and animations from the game. I made them with pen to make them visible and prominent, but you'll have to zoom in to really see them. The most visible pictures are the Egyptian-style "sideways" profile pictures of the red and black Angry Birds, and a stick figure doing the "Egyptian dance". I used the specific colors of black, chestnut, raw sienna, and burnt orange from the Crayola 64-crayon pack to color the floor. I used gold, dandelion, black, raw sienna, and some scarlet to do the walls, and red, scarlet, yellow orange, dandelion, and yellow to make the fire.

More hybrids are on their way! Please comment and share your opinion on these birds! I'll make new ones by majority of request from readers.

Darth Vader Bird

I am your FEATHER... The Darth Vader Bird is my second hybrid. The scene depicts our feathered Sith friend on the volcanic planet of Mustafar, where the brutal duel took place with Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi. I felt that the hardest part about this one was choosing a good backdrop. You obviously need outer space if you want to make any Star Wars theme, but the main thing you need is an iconic location. I thought about where to keep him. The Death Star interior wouldn't look too good, and neither would Echo Base on the snowy planet of Hoth. Then, I thought that the best Darth Vader background would be fiery. So I decided Mustafar, because that is where Anakin got transformed into Darth Vader after that fatal injury. I also decided that I need the Death Star somewhere. So I put it on the top left corner. When I looked at this one up in person, the black crayon blended in too much with the helmet. But when I took the picture, you can kind of see where everything is.

Now, finally, onto the bird itself. Again, like my Jack-O-Lantern bird, this and all other future hybrids will revolve around the basic red bird design. Since the beak is made up of a large upright triangle on the top, and a smaller upside-down triangle on the bottom, I realized Darth's mouthpiece has the "teeth" on top, and the breathing holes on the bottom, and it's two triangles! So, I drew the teeth on the top of the beak, and the breathing sockets on the bottom. As for the eyes, they are a rounded, triangular shape on the red bird in the game. So, I made the edge of the helmet lining the eyes an arrow shape, and the helmet eyepieces shaped like the eyes of the bird in the game. With that, I could then also put the "arrow" eyebrows on the helmet, and then make it really look like the Vader suit was made for the bird.
Plus, I added a lightsaber to really enhance the Darth Vader effect.

More hybrids coming soon!

Jack-O-Lantern Bird

The Jack-O-Lantern bird was the first hybrid I made. Since all my hybrids revolve around the basic red bird in the game, I got as creative as I could to combine a Halloween pumpkin with the bird. I made this one out of crayon and pencil. The basic outline of the red bird is two triangles for the beak, and rounded triangular eyes with V-shaped eyebrows. I drew the basic beak, except the mouth was slightly opened and pumpkin-style teeth were "carved" into it. The eyes and eyebrows were carved in as well, except spaced out more. The two large feathers on the bird's head were changed to the top of a pumpkin, and his tail feathers were leaves. As for the background, I decided to make the sky a gloomy, dark blue color, because I felt that type of environment with a graveyard and full moon really fit as a backdrop for a pumpkin.

Coming soon are more cool hybrids!
